The appeal comes hours after the former Lagos governor was officially sworn in as 16th president of Nigeria.
The development is also coming in the wake of report by former Secretary of the dissolved APC Presidential Campaign Council, James Faleke, that the president will unveil his cabinet members within 60 days.
Faleke gave the assurance in an interview he granted with Channels Television at the inauguration venue in Eagle Square on Monday.
But a worried Bankole believed that Tinubu government can’t be complete without the appointment of some persons with disabilities in his cabinet and parastatals.
He said, “I call for improved recognition and participation of Persons with Disabilities, PWDs in governance as cabinet Ministers and Managers in strategic planning and placements. The President must ensure that all those whose stock in trade is hanging around the corridors of power for ulterior motives and eye-service are not given recognition this time.
“The new administration has its jobs cut out when it starts assembling round pegs in round holes without sacrificing federal character and inclusive of persons with disabilities, youths and women. It must deliberately put in place policies that will reduce and eradicate poverty.”
While hailing Tinubu’s doggedness and democratic traits in the build up to the election and his eventual inauguration as president, the national leader of PWDs urged him to start working on extending olive branches and uniting Nigerians.
Bankole also saluted the uncanny dexterity of elected governors and lawmakers who he warned not to disappoint their people.
“The elections are over despite the ongoing legal tussle and the task ahead is so enormous than to continue unpatriotic rhetoric capable of distracting the new administration. All hands must be on deck to unite the country, deliver on security, power, economy, health, employment, education and other sectors in a timely, prosperous, equitable and inclusive manner.
“I have no doubt that Mr President with his wealth of experience, Spartan determination and knack for spotting the best is ready to deliver Renewed Hope that will bridge the wide gulf between the rich and poor and ensure Nigerians have a better life, improve standard of living and economic prosperity for all.
“I felicitate with the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, governors (re-elected and newly elected), Senators and House of Representatives and States Assembly members for being a part of history that will deliver on the Renewed Hope in the next four years,” he stated.
