Idiodi, who was conferred with the national award of Officer of the Federal Republic by former President Muhammadu Buhari, said Nigerians should learn to live by the principle of diversity in unity.
He made the appeal in a statement issued by his media office in Lagos.
“If we all realise that our diversity is an asset rather than a liability, our aspiration towards national unity and cohesion will enable us to remain grateful to God at any level we find ourselves through productive means of livelihood. This way, the labour of our heroes’ past won’t be in vain,” he said.
The AMORC leader hinted that he has made some contributions at the level of his community, nation building and human civilization globally, adding that the recipient of a national honour should rededicate him or herself to worthwhile goals that will benefit fellow human beings at any level of service to the nation or common humanity.
Idiodi also made a case for Nigerians when he called on President Bola Tinubu to take the safety of lives and properties as a priority.
He also said, “We need a regular supply of electricity and water in our homes and offices. We need up-to-date and relevant modern education for our students and citizens of all ages in today’s digital world so that young or old people have some productive means of livelihood.
“Nigerians need proper medical care in their clinics and hospitals to prevent medical tourism to other countries, knowing full well that healthy people make a healthy nation. We need to restore our cultural respect for the sanctity of human life and property through national health insurance, reliable pension schemes and a bank structure that guarantees ease of business “.
