Two other members of the POS robbery syndicate however evaded the police arrest as they escaped into a nearby bush.
PUNCH Metro gathered that on June 5, 2023, at about 1230hrs, policemen attached to Mosogar division while on routine patrol intercepted Moses Musa and two others, Kelin and Isah, along Mosogar/Oghara expressway.
It was gathered that the suspects on sighting the police patrol team fled into a nearby bush.
But the security operatives pursued them during which Moses Musa was nabbed with a locally made pistol and a live cartridge while the other two suspects escaped into the bush.
The police public relations officer for Delta State Command, DSP Bright Edafe stated that on interrogation, Moses Musa confessed that he is from Kogi State and that the three of them specialized in POS robbery.
Also, Moses Musa was reportedly identified as a victim whose motorcycle was recently snatched at gunpoint along Oghara/Mosogar Bridge.
The PPRO affirmed that the suspect is currently in custody, just as investigation is ongoing.
In a similar development, on June 5, 2023 at about 1740hours, operatives of Agbor Division while on anti-crime Patrol along Baleke Street, Iregua Agbor, the team sighted a motorcycle with three passengers, carrying a bag.
On sighting the police, two of the passengers who later gave their names as Collins Anthony (34) and Stephen Goddey (30), both residents of Agbor community jumped off the motorcycle and took to flight.
The Police went after them, and arrested them.
During search, one locally fabricated cut to size pistol and one live cartridge were recovered from the duo.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects belong to a criminal syndicate terrorizing Agbor community and its environs.
Investigation is ongoing in the matter.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police for Delta, CP Wale Abass has commended officers and men of the command for their continuous effort in curbing crime and other vices in the state and assured residents that the tempo will be sustained.
