Dr. Tosin Odeyemi, the chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party in Osun State, has reacted to the statement made by the immediate past governor of Kano state, Abdullahi Ganduje, stating that he would attack his predecessor, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso.
Odeyemi, who disclosed this in a statement obtained in Osogbo on Saturday, challenged Ganduje to carry out his threat against Kwankwaso and face consequences for his actions.
Ganduje, while addressing State House correspondents shortly after a closed-door meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Aso Rock Villa on Friday, said the demolitions of buildings by the incumbent governor of Kano, Abba Yusuf, were executed without due process.
He also told journalists that though he knew that Kwankwaso was in the Villa, he would have slapped him, had they met.
Reacting further, Odeyemi said as a former governor, Ganduje should not have made such a statement, noting that it was a pointer to how he managed state affairs, while he was in office as governor.
The statement “How could a whole former governor make such statement? Did he think we are still in the era where any indiscipline act can go unchallenged in Nigeria?
“Ganduje should go and rest. He should start building a political empire as being done by our leader, Engr. Kwankwaso. And if he feels he wants to try the patience of the NNPP family in Nigeria, he should go ahead with his threat. A word is enough for him if he is wise.”
