This is as he called the senators-elect to rally support for Akpabio’s emergence tomorrow.
Ndem stated this during a chat with our correspondent in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, on Monday.
He described Akpabio as a rare gift to the Senate, adding that Nigeria requires “tried, tested, and proven leaders with the experience to man critical sectors at all levels of government at this critical period of her national history. “
“I, therefore, called on all other contenders to close ranks with Senator Akpabio and unite in support of his emergence as president of the Nigerian Senate in the 10th National Assembly.
“I called on all Senators-elect to rally around Senator Akpabio, in his bid for the Senate Presidency.
“Nigeria as a country and its citizens at this critical time of her national life needs tried, tested, and proven leaders with experience who would man critical sectors at all levels of Government,” Ndem said.
The former senatorial aspirant for the Uyo district and a paediatric surgeon noted that support for Akpabio’s senate presidency bid by the senators would be in line with President Bola Tinubu’s philosophy of getting the right and the very best persons to get jobs done.
