Adeparusi, who is currently a student at the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti is currently cooking at an apartment in Ilupeju-Ekiti in Oye Local Government Area and intends to cook for 120 hours.
Omowaiye had on Sunday donated a sum of N100,000 to Adeparusi and also rallied support for her at a time she was coming under attack by a section of the public that felt she should not have embarked on the exercise to shatter the record recently set by another Nigerian chef, Hilda Baci.
Giving our correspondent an update during an interview on Monday, Omowaiye, who is coordinating efforts to assist the chef, confirmed the story that a United States-based Ekiti indigene, Ayodeji Arojo, has offered Adeparusi a two-week tour of the states.
He further said, “I have been speaking with her manager, as Adeparusi was busy cooking when I reached out to her. I can tell you she is in high spirits. A lot of people, especially Ekiti indigenes in the diaspora, are willing to assist her with donations, but she does not have an account with a commercial bank. She is operating an Opay account. Ekiti indigenes in the US and Canada are interested in helping her, which is heartwarming.
“I have contacted a commercial bank and by Tuesday, we will have an account for her. I am also reaching out to the Immigration Service to ensure that Adeparusi gets a passport within a short time for her to go on a tour of the US. The opportunity was offered to her by Mr Ayodeji Arojo.
“I am also in contact with the wife of Ekiti State Governor. She will be visiting Adeparusi to support her too. We are doing a lot to rally support for the chef. I and a popular social media influencer, Sunday Wale Adeniran, are working with other people to encourage her.
“My aim is that even if Guinness World Record does not recognise her efforts, we Nigerians have shown her love and we can encourage our youth through this kind of effort by supporting their aspirations. It is this kind of Nigeria that the President, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, is working towards.”
