The GWR, in a statement on its website on Tuesday, announced that the 26-year-old restaurateur successfully broke the record with a time of 93 hours and 11 minutes.
“Following a thorough review of all the evidence, Guinness World Records can now confirm that Hilda Effiong Bassey, better known as Hilda Baci, has officially broken the record for the longest cooking marathon (individual), with a time of 93 hours and 11 minutes.” The statement was read in part.
Following the announcement, Hilda Baci, in a video on her Instagram Story, was seen shedding tears of joy as she expressed gratitude to God.
An emotional Hilda, who was in a car when she received the news, burst into tears as she went on to pray and thank God that her hard work paid off and all her effort was not in vain.

In other news, Guinness World Records has revealed why almost 7 hours was deducted from Hilda’s record time.
After a thorough review of the evidence, Guinness World Records adjusted Hilda’s record time to 93 hours and 11 minutes, deducting about 7 hours from her initial claim.
According to GWR, this adjustment was made because Hilda mistakenly took extra minutes during one of her rest breaks early on in the attempt. Read here.
