After informing Nantes of his decision to part ways with the club, Ligue 1 sides OGC Nice and LOSC Lille have shown interest in Moses Simon as they hope to snatch him up ahead of next season.
The 27-year-old joined Nantes in 2020 and has a year left on his contract.
Despite efforts to tie the Nigerian to a long-term contract, Simon declined offers from the Canaries as he wished to ply his trade elsewhere next season.
Last week, L’Equipe, however, reported that the exit of the winger had been agreed upon by all parties involved and permission had been given for the player to discuss terms with other clubs.
On Wednesday, the reliable French publication, in a recent development, stated that both Nice and Lille were ready to jostle for the Nigeria international.
“One year from the end of his contract, Moses Simon (27) is one of the elements likely to leave FC Nantes this summer. OGC Nice and Lille have expressed their interest in the Nigerian international,” the website wrote.
The Green and Yellows are demanding for a fee in the region of €5m for the 27-year-old winger.
Simon played a vital role in Nantes’ triumphant campaign in the Coupe de France last year, which marked the club’s first significant title in 21 years.
By his standards, Simon produced his worst performance last season as The Canaries manage to survive relegation thanks to the victory against Angers on the last day of the championship.
Last season, the 27-year-old contributed five goals and four assists across 34 Ligue 1 matches.
