Earlier reports confirmed that veteran Nollywood actor Don Brymo Uchegbu peacefully passed away in his sleep on Wednesday night at the age of 56.
In a touching tribute to the late thespian, Obi shared their last conversation on WhatsApp, where Uchegbu had promised to be there for him.
Obi expressed deep sorrow and regret that Uchegbu had pledged to support him but couldn’t fulfill that promise due to his untimely death.
“You promised to be there for me, sir. We never planned for it to be for such a short period of time, sir. Why now? Why? It’s too hard to say goodbye, Don Brymo. Rest in peace. Good night in the day, sir. Go well,” he captioned the post.

Actor Mayor Ofoegbu confirmed the news of Don Brymo’s death in a post shared on his Facebook page on Thursday morning, June 15.
Sharing a photo of the deceased, Ofoegbu wrote,
“Plan for tomorrow but live for today. Tomorrow is not guaranteed. I wrote those lines on my WhatsApp status yesterday evening. My man, my 5 & 6, Don Brymo Uchegbu, passed away in his sleep.
“I received the shocking news this morning and had to verify from his family. Chai Don Brymo my manchi. It’s hard to say goodbye.Nnukwu nwa na Enugu ukwu.”
