The General Evangelist of the Christ Apostolic Church Worldwide, Prophet Hezekiah Oladeji, on Saturday, advised President Bola Tinubu to rule Nigeria with the fear of God and shun the temptation of sentiments in appointments into his cabinet and other key positions.
Oladeji, who said focus should be on appointing patriotic people with the capacity to deliver, advised the president to allow God to lead him to ensure the selection of the right people in the process, saying such was crucial to the country’s development and restoring hope to Nigerians.
The cleric spoke at Erio Ekiti at a press conference heralding the 21st edition of the yearly weeklong Apostle Ayo Babalola Power Explosion, Erio 2023 of CAC Canaanland in conjunction with Mountain of Mercy, Erio Ekiti with the theme, “How sweet the name of Jesus” beginning on Monday.
Oladeji, who urged churches not to relent in praying for the restoration of the country’s glory, advised Nigerians to spare at least a minute daily to confess and prophesy good things about Nigeria as part of efforts to redirect Nigeria to the path of greatness.
The cleric said that the removal of subsidy on petroleum would bring about positive results in the bid to reset Nigeria and bring it out of the woods, adding that some good things could start in a harsh way.
He said, “People can say the removal of subsidy at this time is dangerous, but it may turn out to be the way out of our numerous challenges in Nigeria, it can be the beginning of solutions to our problems as a nation. So let us keep praying for our country and leaders and I know a miracle will happen”.
Oladeji, who said God made Tinubu president for a purpose, said, “Let us continue to pray for God’s will for our country. Let all of us, irrespective of tribe and religion, take it as an assignment to spare at least a minute to confess good and positive things about Nigeria. If we do that, we will see the manifestation”.
On Tinubu’s cabinet, he said, “If you look at our new president, the way I see it, God will guide and direct him in choosing those he would work with and members of his cabinet and I believe he will not appoint wrong people to position.
“I will also advise him to allow God to lead him regarding that and he should not base the appointments on ethnic or tribal sentiment. He should treat all equally,” the cleric said.
Oladeji said that just as prayers would be held for the country and individuals, “the 2023 power explosion would be yet another occasion where God will intervene in the challenges of many as barrens will receive their babies, the sick will be healed and yokes will be broken. God has been so faithful since the inception of power explosion. Those coming should focus on God”.
