This was disclosed by the Public Relations Officer of the hospital, Kemi Fasooto, in a statement sent to our correspondent in Osogbo late Friday.
Fasooto, who quoted a letter signed for the Permanent Secretary by the Director, Human Resources Management, said the appointment was for a period of six months within which all processes for the appointment of a substantive Chief Medical Director would be initiated and concluded by the Ministry.
The statement said Adegbenhigbe, a Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon, President, Paediatric Orthopaedic Society of Nigeria, is also the first black African member of the Medical Advisory Board of Ponseti International Association, United States of America.
It further read in parts, “He coordinated the first Ponseti International Clubfoot Workshop in West Africa and translated the manual ‘Clubfoot: Ponseti Management’ to Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa languages for use in Nigeria.
“Through him, Nigeria became the first country globally that produced and adopted national clinical guidelines on Clubfoot treatment. He has added two terminologies into the medical encyclopedias- ophthofall and Exposed Bone Syndrome.
“All members of staff and the entire public are implored to kindly support and cooperate with him on this new assignment.”
