The Oniba of Iba Kingdom, Oba Sulaiman Raji, has said that his conferment of an honorary doctorate by the Lagos State University, Ojo, was a catalyst to drive positivity in society.
In a statement he signed, Raji added that the award had instilled a sense of purpose and strive for positive change in the community.
The Oba received the Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters in Grassroots Development during the institution’s 26th Convocation and 40th Anniversary of the institution in Lagos on Thursday.
He said, “With great joy and gratitude, I seize this opportunity to express my heartfelt appreciation for the esteemed Lagos State University and their conferral of the honorary degree upon me.
“The recognition of being awarded an honorary doctorate from LASU serves as an extraordinary motivation to redouble my efforts and make an even greater impact on our society.
“This honorary doctorate award represents far more than a mere title; it signifies a profound recognition of my commitment and dedication to serving our society. The privilege of receiving this honour has instilled in me a renewed sense of purpose and strengthened my resolve to strive for positive change in our community.”
He expressed gratitude to LASU and “countless individuals” who supported, inspired and believed in his vision, adding that their tireless efforts propelled him to move forward.
The Oniba stated, “Your acknowledgement has fortified my determination to create a lasting impact on the lives of our fellow citizens.”
