The prosaic and pedestrian, yet profound definition of TIME says that the phenomenon is the indefinite continued progress of existence and events in the past, present, and leading into the future. Time is the measured or measurable period during which an action, process, or condition exists or continues. Some anonymous wise man calls time a continuum that occupies no space. (nonspatial). Time is a slot in the Rubicon of human and earthly existence. It is replete with events that succeed one another from the past through the present into the future.
Time did not create itself. It was breathed into existence by God; the father and creator of all created things who makes all things glowingly beautiful by His fighting fingers in His own set time. It is sweet and relieving to know that God of heaven is not time-controlled. He is a time-controlling Jehovah. It is also sweet and relieving to know that He is not held bound by time. Yes! He is beyond time. He did not come into existence at some point within time. He is the source of everything created at any time. Instead of having a beginning that began with time, He is the beginning and the end; and there was no beginning of Him and no ending possible.
Somebody once said that time is a flat circle. How? The dimensions of a flat surface are definitely different from a circle. A circle is a round-shaped figure that has no corners or edges known as a circle. In geometry, it is defined as a closed shape, two-dimensional shape, or curved shape called a circle. Have you ever thought about this? How can an illusory continuum that exists without an end be enclosed in a round-shaped figure that has no corners or edges? How is it possible to box up the time thought in a closed-shape imagery called a circle? Yet, we are told that time is a flat circle.
Proponents of “Time as a flat circle” gave us a multidimensional allusion to what they mean by this. The philosophical concept means that we start at the end, and end in the beginning. Our lives, from beginning to end, resemble a complete full circle. No matter how big or small the circle is, it ends in the exact same way for everyone. That is one school of thought.
“Time as a flat circle” also means that history will always repeat itself. Everything we’ve ever done, or will do will be done over and over and over again as history spins in a carousel of repetition. Wars we fight today in the world aren’t new, we’ve fought them before. Societal problems of hunger and poverty aren’t new; they’ve always been in existence. Followership that trails dangerous and wicked leaders isn’t new. Thousands of people followed Adolf Hitler as he unleashed a rampage on the world. Wicked leaders in the present dispensation also have followership probably bigger in number than men who followed wicked men in the past. It is time as a flat circle.
A determinist philosophical submission argues that humans exist within an infinite loop; that everything that has ever happened was always destined to happen and is destined to happen again. This theory also says that no man can alter the path of his life, and it’s futile to try. This refers to destiny. Destiny is or an event purposed to happen. It is what has been determined to have been released as a result of the creator’s predetermined milk and honey for your life. Anyone can think less of another man as unqualified for a position and a lifting. Men can underrate and undermine other men. They can conclude that a certain man in question cannot become a man of value to society he lives in. But can man alter the path of life? No! It’s futile to try.
Does the true meaning of time as a flat circle confuse you? Its definition may be confusing, but you shouldn’t be confused with time itself. Its ephemerality is a reality. Over time, the human body is weakening. The human organs are withering. Daytime is dwindling. Nighttime is crawling in. Time is ticking. End of the journey is nearing. Yet we keep going as we race against time. But remember when you are wheeling and dealing; all is transient. Life is a real stage performance, not a rehearsal. It is the main event, not a practice. Remember, all main events and stage performances do end. Do what you got to do now and do right!
There’s coming a twilight when you won’t have bones strong enough to carry you. It’s a time when you will have run out of energy not high enough to ferry you. Do not leave what you must do in your prime until your twilight when you lack the chime. The future is now; Work while it is yet day. The night will come when you can no longer make hay. You may delay, but time will not. Yesterday is the past that always looks better than it was. It’s only pleasant because it isn’t here. Tomorrow is the future whose beauty and gloriousness our natural eyes have not yet beheld. But today is a gift; that is why it’s called ‘the present.’ Today is a precious gift and the tomorrow you worried about yesterday. Put it to use for your own good. Any action is often better than no action, especially if you have been stuck in an unhappy situation for a long time.
