The lead pastor of the Trinity House Church, Lagos, Ituah Ighodalo, has revealed that one of his daughters has warned him against remarrying.
Speaking during an interview with Arise TV, Ighodalo said, “It is not possible to say I would never remarry, but if I had my way, I am okay. I am happy and my life is not complicated. I am looking after my children, and I am doing well. I might consider it when my children are older. My daughter has also warned me not to remarry (laughs).”
The cleric added that his children were not lacking of mother figures in their lives. He said, “I have been lucky. They (children) have about four women (as mother figures) in their lives. They include my mother in-law (their maternal grandmother), my brother’s wife, Ifeyinwa; my sister, Toluwalope; and Dami, who used to be Ibidun’s personal assistant. And, she has continued in that role.”
Asked by the interviewers if Dami was single, Ighodalo said, “She is single, but is like a daughter to me. She is a good friend’s child, and I practically brought her up.”
Shedding light on how he had been coping with being a widower and wading off female attention, Ighodalo said, “I am coping well, because I was a bachelor for a long time and I know the game. I am very clear in my thoughts, and I would not be in the same space with any woman just by myself. I am always either with my personal assistant, special assistant or chief of staff. Or, they (women) would come to my home, where there are maids around.”
Recall that Ighodalo lost his wife, Ibidun, on June 14, 2020. She had died of heart attack while working on COVID-19 isolation centres in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Prior to her death, Ibidun was a former beauty queen, an event management expert, a philanthropist, and co-pastor of Trinity House Church. She was also the founder of Elizabeth R, a public relations and event company; as well as the Ibidunni Ighodalo Foundation, a non-profit organisation focused on supporting families with infertility challenges. Pastor Ighodalo and Ibidun got married in 2007, and following multiple failed attempts at in-vitro fertilisation, the couple adopted two children.
However, before Ibidun, Ighodalo was formerly married to Lucy-Ann Suinner, before their union hit the rocks.
