Esosa with the Police Force No. 368144, while making the call in Warri, Delta State on Monday noted that the judgement of Hon. Justice A. A. Adewenimo of the National Industrial Court, Benin Judicial Division of 17th November 2021 “had ordered for his reinstatement over the unlawful dismissal from the Force”.
Armed with a certified true copy of the judgement with suit No: NICN/BEN/03/2018, the embattled policeman told newsmen that “even though the Industrial Court has ordered the Police authorities to reinstate me, but up till now, they have refused to obey the court order”.
According to him, while the matter was in court, the police lawyer appeared only twice until the court gave the judgement on 17th November 2021 “that my dismissal by the Police Force was null, void and of no effect and asked that I be reinstated”.
“But up till date, the police authorities had refused to do the needful”.
Esosa, therefore, appealed to relevant authorities “to wade into the matter for the police authorities to do the needful”.
He lamented that his unlawful dismissal had brought him untold hardship coupled with his father’s death upon hearing of the dismissal news while he had also been attacked severally by unknown gunmen in his residence, after the incident.
Narrating his ordeal to newsmen, Esosa said, “The whole issue started when I was transferred from National Inland Waterways Authority at Deco Road, Warri as Police Officer on duty to National Inland Waterways Authority Igbokoda, Ondo State.
“At NIWA Office in Igbokoda, I was placed under the Command of one ASP Olaoye Waheed Kolawole with AP 105385 who posted me to Ajah in Lagos on special duty in one Chinese Company known as SINOTRUST International Investment Limited and I resumed there on the 9th of June 2017 and was documented accordingly.
“The company’s Manager, Mr Leo, told me that I was entitled to N3,000.00 daily as an allowance, and would be paid through ASP Olaoye Kolawole Waheed’s account.
“While I was on special duty, I was entitled to N155,000.00 but I was paid only N20,000.00 for the months of June and July and I protested to ASP Olaoye Kolawole Waheed who, instead of listening to me, arrested me and detained me at Igbokoda Police Station on the 7th September 2017 and on Friday 24th November 2017 and later, ASP Waheed handed me over to a new DSP Victor Olowolagba.
“And when a call came from Zama Shettima, who is now AIG, I was detained in the police cell for four days without food and water just as I was beaten up mercilessly.
“I was admitted to the hospital at Igbokoda Central Hospital, before I was finally charged to orderly room trial and before I knew it, I was dismissed without a dismissal letter.
“With the turn of events, I had no other option but to go to the National Industrial Court in Akure to seek redress in January 2018, while the Akure Court later transferred the case to Benin, Edo State.”
