The Director of Community Engagement to King Charles III of England and Queen Camila, Eva Omaghomi, has been having a swell time in Nigeria since she got into the country. She was hosted to a welcome dinner by media personality, Stephanie Busari-Bediham, and her husband, Francois-Xavier Bediham, at their residence in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Wednesday, July 5, 2023.
The event also served as a send-forth party for the British Deputy High Commissioner in Lagos, Ben Llewellyn-Jones.
The opening prayer was said by Francois-Xavier, who was adorned in a white ‘agbada.’
During her opening address, Stephanie appreciated everyone who graced the occasion.
In her remarks, Omoghomi stated she was surprised at the energy she had felt since she returned to Nigeria, adding that she was grateful for it. She said, “I am very grateful to be back to my place of birth— Lagos. I often refer to it as the centre of the universe. That is (because of) how much energy is in here. I am here with the Prince’s Trust which was founded by His Majesty (King Charles III) in 1976, now launching in Nigeria and in 23 countries.”
On his part, Llelwellyn-Jones said, “I have been here (Lagos) for three years. Our time here has been wonderful. Laura (my wife) and I are leaving Nigeria after three years in Lagos, and three years in Abuja too.
“On what I will miss about Nigerians, they are very special people. Stephanie and Francois, thanks for hosting us.”
Guests at the event include the Head Pastor, House on the Rock Church, Paul Adefarasin, and his wife, Ifeanyi; the founder of Nike Art Gallery, Nike Davies-Okundaye, who wore her signature green hat, which was complemented by her red dress, with beads to match.
