The PUNCH had reported the invasion of gunmen at Akpuuna and adjourning villages in the Ukum local government area of the state on Saturday where 24 people were killed.
In his condolence message issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Kula Tersoo on Sunday, Governor Alia said that he was disappointed to receive the killing of innocent citizens by the bandits.
The governor also advised the people of the Sankera axis to assist security agencies with useful information that will help quell insecurity in the area.
He expressed total displeasure over what he describes as a heinous crime and a grave sin against God and mankind.
“The governor directs security agents to arrest those behind the unlawful act and bring them to book.
“The governor sends his words of condolence to those whose loved ones were killed in the attack and prays to God to comfort them.
“The governor calls for calm and advises the people of Sankera to assist security agencies with useful information that will help quell insecurity in the area,” governor Alia said in the statement.
