The lady, who prefers to remain anonymous, paid a large upfront fee of N500,000 for the flat only to discover that she had been duped.
The disgruntled renter resorted to Twitter to vent her angst, seeking advice and support from the Twitter community.
She contacted prominent Twitter user Wizarab via an anonymous message sent by her friend.
The message showed that she had paid the rent two months prior, uninformed of the landlord’s plans to sell the house.
To her surprise, the landlord had not only sold the building, but had also gone abroad, putting her in a difficult situation.
The message read;
“Hey bro my friend recently paid 500k for rent two months ago, she never knew the landlord had intention of selling the house.
Now he has sold everything and relocated abroad after collecting 500k for rent.
Number switched off. Is there anyway she can file a complaint and get a refund.”
