A non-profit and faith-based organisation, Rose of Sharon Foundation, has unveiled plans to celebrate 15 years of leading the cause to fight for the rights of widows, their dependents, and orphans in Nigeria.
Speaking about the event, RoSF Founder, Apostle Folorunso Alakija, stated that the journey of building the foundation was rewarding.
She said, “We can see the significant progress in advocacy, particularly in promoting the rights of widows, which supported the passage of the Violence Against Persons Prohibition Act in 2015.”
RoSF Country Manager, Dr Ndudi Bowei, acknowledged the foundation’s impactful contribution to advancing widows’ rights through legislation.
She said, “The foundation has an unwavering commitment to championing the cause of widows through initiatives and programmes that support socio-legal protection, and guarantee financial independence and educational opportunities for widows, their dependents, and orphans.”
