Officials of the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board have embarked on a monitoring exercise for the 2023 placement test in the state.
This, according to LASUBEB, is to ensure a “hitch-free conduct of the year 2023 Placement Test by Continuous Assessment Scores at designated school centres.”
The placement test is an annual transition examination for primary six pupils of public and private schools across Lagos State.
The Secretary, LASUBEB, Mr Hakeem Lamidi, in a statement on Monday, said the examination was being held simultaneously in 405 centres across the state.
He expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the exercise as he led the monitoring team to some of the centres.
Lamidi, during the monitoring of some centres in the Surulere Local Government Area, said the state was committed to ensuring that no child was left behind in accessing quality basic education.
He disclosed that questions were “transmitted into Braille versions for applicants with visual impairment while support is provided to other physically-challenged pupils to cater to as many learners as possible.”
Lamidi commended the state examination board for the strategy applied in ensuring a seamless exercise, adding that the environment was made conducive for pupils to concentrate on their test.
The centres visited during the monitoring included Immaculate Heart Comprehensive Junior High School, Kosofe; New Era Junior and Senior Secondary School, Surulere; Pacelli School for the Blind and Partially Sighted Children, Lagos; Progressive Junior Secondary School and Alapere Comprehensive Junior and Senior High School.
