Former Sunshine Stars striker, Franklin Sasere has joined Hungarian side, Ujpest FC, from FC Vaduz in Liechtenstein on a two-year deal, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
Sasere joins former Enugu Rangers player Obinna Nwobodo and another Nigerian, Vincent Onovo at the club.
“New country, new home, same desire for success. Proud to be a Ujpest FC player. Hungary, be kind,” the player said after completing the move.
The club also praised the 26-year-old after announcing him on their website.
“He is a particularly fast player, which was an important aspect in his selection, since this way, together with Kevin Csoboth and Tamás Kiss, he can form one of the fastest offensive lines in NBI.”
The Nigerian might be in line to make his debut soon as the club begins their autumn campaign on Saturday, July 29 against Fehérvár FC in the OTB Bank League.
The striker spent only a year at Vaduz where he won the Liechtenstein Cup last season and helped the team qualify for the UEFA Europa Conference League. He scored two goals in two appearances in the cup competition and eight goals as well as three assists in the Swiss second division.
He had previously played at FC Lugano in Switzerland after moving from Sunshine Stars in 2019.
