Kuje took over from Corps Commander Salisu Galadunci who has been transferred to the national headquarters, Abuja.
Spokesperson for the FRSC, Rivers State Command, Juliana Eni, disclosed this in a statement issued in Port Harcourt on Wednesday and sent to newsmen.
She said the development followed the recent postings of senior officers in the corps.
The statement added, “Corps Commander Christopher Kuje who is the immediate past Corridor Commander of Benin- Asaba- Awka Corridor, is a seasoned Officer with a track record of promoting the cause of road safety in Nigeria.
“During the course of his sojourn in the FRSC, he has worked in Delta, Benue, Adamawa, Kano, Sokoto states, and the national headquarters, Abuja.”
In his inaugural address after taking over the leadership of the state at a brief event in Port Harcourt, Kuje emphasised that his administration would focus on the FRSC visibility, an extensive public enlightenment campaign.
Kuje also promises training of staff and drivers, prompt response to rescue and clearance of obstruction, stakeholders collaboration, and forwarding of real and on-time reports of activities.
