The owner of X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, Elon Musk, has reinstated the account of famous American singer and fashion designer Kanye Omari West, popularly known as Kanye West or Ye.
The company, on Saturday, told the Wall Street Journal that the singer will not be able to monetise his account, and no ads will appear next to his posts.
West’s account, which currently has 31.5 million followers, now appears with a golden verification tick, indicating that X recognises it as an official business account.
DAILY POST recalls that the rapper’s account was suspended in December 2022 for violating the platform’s rules on inciting violence with his multiple antisemitic comments.
As of the time of filing this report, It’s unclear whether Kanye submitted an appeal or if something else prompted his account’s reactivation, as the singer has yet to post on the platform.
