The division was said to be a result of the inability of the Nigeria Labour Congress in the state to elect state executives.
A group loyal to the caretaker chairman of the NLC in the state had assembled at Freedom Park Osogbo, while members of Trade Union Congress led by Adebowale Adekola, had assembled at Centre for Black Culture and International Understanding, Osogbo.
Also, members of the Osun Civil Societies Coalition joined by members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities and National Union of Electricity Employees, held another protest march through major streets in Osogbo.
Speaking after joining the NLC group at Freedom Park, Osogbo, the Chairman of Osun CSOs, Waheed Lawal, said “Everyone must come out to stop the move to further impoverished Nigerians.
“If not for the agitations, the Federal Government would have increased electricity tariff. Nigerians must come out to join this protest.”
