According to a statement released on Thursday, the acting Comptroller General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, disclosed this when he hosted a delegation from NACCIMA, led by the president of the association, Dele Oye in Abuja.
Adeniyi also said that the collaboration will ensure success in trade facilitation and foster a better future for trade in the country.
“The Service will join hands with NACCIMA to organise a sensitisation workshop for the two parties,” he said.
Earlier, the NACCIMA president, Oye, congratulated the acting CGC on his appointment.
He also commended his exceptional steps towards leading the NCS to a better height and his significant approach to regulating trade industries in the country.
Oye reminded the acting CGC of the issues surrounding the certificate of origin, affirming that NACCIMA is determined to support the service in all ramifications.
On the new NCS Act, 2023, Oye urged Adeniyi to sensitise officers of the service.
The acting NCS boss, however, assured Oye of the service’s total commitment to involve them (NACCIMA) in the area.
Meanwhile, Adeniyi also had a separate meeting with representatives from the United Bank for Africa.
During the meeting, the leader of the delegation, Kayode Fashola, congratulated Adeniyi on his appointment while also informing him of the bank’s commitment to strengthening the cordial relationship between service and UBA.
