Four yet-to-be-identified victims of a fatal automobile accident in the Adeniji Adele area of Lagos Island were rescued by operatives of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority on Saturday.
This was disclosed in a statement by LASTMA’s Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department, Adebayo Taofiq.
Taofiq added that the two male and two female accident victims were immediately rushed to the hospital.
The statement read, “LASTMA Oladunni Ademola ‘Zebra’ (Zone 1 Sura) who led the rescue team disclosed that the lone accident involved a Toyota Sienna (MUS 706 EQ).
“Ademola disclosed further that preliminary investigation revealed that the driver was on top speed and could no longer control the vehicle after noticing the brake failure. He confirmed that LASTMA officials rescued four victims (two males and two females).
“Immediately after the accident happened, our officials with support from police officers from Adeniji Adele police command quickly intervened and rescued these four victims. The rescued four accident victims were immediately rushed to a General Hospital for medical attention.”
The General Manager of LASTMA, Mr Bolaji Oreagba, advised motorists to be more careful and always check that their vehicles are in good condition before they embark on any journey.
