Family members of 70-year-old Victoria Adebiyi are currently in search of the woman who was said to have been missing since last Monday.
The woman said to be suffering from dementia reportedly got missing from the residence of her daughter, Seyi Bashola, in the Shangisha, Magodo area of Lagos.
Bashola was said to be away at work when she received a call that her mother was missing.
A case of a missing person was said to have been reported at the Isheri-Berger Police Division.
“While at the office, I was called by some of my neighbours that they could not see Mama again and since then, we have been searching for her. We have reported the matter at the Isheri-Berger Police Station,” Bashola told our correspondent.
Two other children of the missing woman, Oluwakemi and Seye, also confirmed the development.
“Our mother has been suffering from dementia for some time now and when we heard that she left Aunty Seyi’s house, we thought that she must have just acted out of impulse to go out without knowing her whereabouts or where she is headed to.
“The police should please help us search for her and also anyone who sees her should contact the police,” Seye said.
Contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, promised to find out the state of the investigation into the case and revert.
He had yet to do so as of the time of filing this report.
