Muhammed Garba
Muhammed Garba, the former Kano commissioner of Information and Home Affairs, has been appointed as the chief of staff of the new National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje.
The appointment was announced in a statement issued on Tuesday by a former aide of the APC national chairman, Abubakar Ibrahim.
Aside from serving in Ganduje’s government in Kano for eight years, Garba also served as the press secretary to the office of the deputy speaker of the House of Representatives.
Garba was also a former National Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, (NUJ). He also served as the press secretary to the office of the deputy speaker of the House of Representatives.
The former information commissioner was in the news three weeks ago when debunking a claim that his principal obtained an N10bn loan for the installation of Close-Circuit Television cameras in Kano State.
Garba was reacting to a claim made by the Coalition of Political Analysis Forum and Governance.
While chiding the CSO for demanding Ganduje’s probe, he stated that the claim by the group was an attempt to discredit the ex-governor.
