Chairman of the committee, Yusuf Gagdi, ordered the warrant of his arrest on Thursday following Kolo’s failure to appear before the committee in continuation of the hearing.
The PUNCH had reported how Kolo confessed before the committee to have collected huge amounts of money from job applicants with assurances of jobs on behalf of the FCC Chairman, Muheeba Dankaka.
Kola had told the committee on Monday that he used his personal bank account to collect monies from job applicants and withdrew the same for Dankaka in cash. The committee thereafter asked him to return in continuation of the investigation; an invitation Kolo has failed to honour.
Speaking on the non-appearance of Kolo, the Chairman of the committee directed the clerk to commence the process of an arrest warrant.
Following his failure to appear on Thursday, Gagdi who represents Pankshin/Panam/Kanke Federal Constituency of Plateau State, urged relevant security agencies to pick up Kolo and bring him before the committee on Monday.
“For Haruna Kolo, the position of this committee is that he will lose his freedom. We will issue a warrant of arrest in respect of Haruna Kolo and compel security agencies to present him before this committee at any given period if he is so arrested,” he said.
The committee thereafter adjourned the investigation till Monday.
