The Bursar of the Bamidele Olumilua University of Education Science and Technology, Ikere-Ekiti, Mr Babatunde Apata, has been elected as the vice chairman of the Association of Bursars of Nigerian Universities.
A statement from the association said Apata was elected unopposed during its special virtual session on August 5, 2023.
“ABNU is an association that provides professional leadership for the financial managers and heads of support services of Nigerian universities, focusing on effectiveness, efficiency, and probity, to ensure proper accountability of universities funds,” the statement read.
Meanwhile, the Vice-Chancellor of the Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere-Ekiti, Prof. Olufemi Adeoluwa, has congratulated Apata on his new status, describing the feat as recognition of professionalism and excellence.
He said, “The university authorities are proud of his achievement as a worthy ambassador of BOUESTI and urged him to use his new position to promote professional competence, fiscal discipline and accountability among the custodians and managers of funds in the nation’s varsities.”
