Adamu said the military needed the support of all Nigerians to work effectively and tackle crimes and criminalities in the country.
The army boss made the call during a courtesy visit to him by the Executive members of the Ondo State chapter of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, in Akure, the state capital
According to him, encouragement from Nigerians was all the military and other security agencies need to make the country crime-free.
He said “Negative reportage of the military activities usually brings down the morale of officers. So the media should ensure they give accurate information without endangering national security.
“The army is working with other security agencies in the state to nib crime and other social vices in the bud.”
The brigadier-general said women journalists in the state are versatile at ensuring that the voice of women were heard. He promised the army’s unflinching support for the association.
Earlier, in her remarks, the Ondo NAWOJ Chairperson, Comrade Tola Gbadamosi solicited the support and cooperation of the brigade to ensure cordial working relationships.
She congratulated the Commander for a job well done.
