Among the ministers-designate is the 69-year-old Professor, Tahir Mamman, who was sworn in as the Minister of Education by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Olukayode Ariwoola.

1. Dr Tahir Mamman was born on July 7, 1954.
2. He graduated from the Ahmadu Bello University in 1983 with a Bachelor of Laws degree.
3. He bagged his MSc and PhD degrees from the University of Warwick, England.
4. He is a father of nine: Mamman has been blessed with a large and loving family
5. He is the first Senior Advocate of Nigeria from Adamawa State and a recipient of the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger.
6. He ran for Adamawa State governorship election in 2014 under the platform of the All Progressives Congress.
7. He is currently the Vice Chancellor of Baze University, Abuja, a private tertiary institution founded in 2011 by Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed.
8. He served as the Director General of the Nigerian Law School from 2005-2013.
9. Mamman holds the chieftaincy titles of Dan Ruwata Adamawa Emirate and Dokajin Mubi of Adamawa State.
10. He was a board member of the International Association of Law Schools based in Washington DC, USA.
