The Department of State Services (DSS) has detained Pascal Nnorli, Manager of Abuja-Kaduna Kaduna Train Services following the leak of a memo warning of a potential terror attack on the Abuja-Kaduna railway,
Under the condition of anonymity, a dependable source within the Nigerian Railway Corporation informed our correspondent that the manager, Victor Adamu, the operations manager, and other employees had all been taken into custody.
According to Gistlover, the Nigerian Railway Corporation received a security alert from the DSS last Wednesday regarding a plan by bandits to attack the train link between Abuja and Kaduna at any time.
In a memo from the FCT Command that was signed by the DSS Director, R.N. Adepemu. The secret police issued an advisory to train passengers, regarding security.
The NRC source said, “Do you know that they have arrested our manager since last Thursday – the two of them, the operation manager and Pascal, but they have released one of them,” when speaking with our correspondent on Sunday.
“Victor is a victim of circumstance because they encountered him in Pascal’s office. As a result, they all were arrested and taken to the DSS office. Today, Pascal is still there.
According to the source, there was a good chance that the DSS memo leak was responsible for the arrest.
The source emphasizes that the letter explicitly warned that if it leaked, it might result in arrests and that it was addressed to the Managing Director of the NRC and contained sensitive information about the attack.
“I couldn’t understand why they detained them, but from what I understand, they claimed that one letter regarding the Abuja-Kaduna attack was written to our Managing Director and clearly stated that if the letter leaked, it could result in arrest. According to the DSS, Pascal’s office dropped the letter, which then leaked and went viral.
Managing Director of NRC Fidet Okhiria declined to comment when contacted.
