According to the statement, the governor, Abba Kabir, made the disclosure during a meeting with the representatives of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
The statement said that the state government, at the meeting, reaffirmed its dedication to strengthening the 11-year partnership between the Kano State Government and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
According to the statement, the deputy governor, Aminu Gwarzo received the Foundation’s delegation on the governor’s behalf where he stressed the state’s determination to improve healthcare across all levels.
“We want to assure you that the State Government is committed towards improving healthcare at all levels in the State,” Gwarzo was quoted to have said in the statement.
Gwarzo also expressed gratitude to the Foundation for its support in the health sector and expressed interest in the Foundation’s involvement in areas like agriculture and digital finance.
Earlier, the leader of the foundation’s delegation in Nigeria, Mr. Jerremy Zungurana, lauded the enduring partnership and applauded the state’s efforts in healthcare development.
He further promised sustainable assistance for the state’s initiatives as requested by the governor.
