The PUNCH reports that protests trailed the announcements of both Atikase and Okang into the board of the interventionist agency.
The PUNCH reported on Thursday how scores of demonstrators took to the streets of Abuja to protest the appointment of Okang, who is said to be a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, as the Commissioner representing Cross River State on the NDDC board.
The protest came on the heels of a similar one held in Calabar, the Cross River capital, on Wednesday.
No official reason has been given why Atikase’s name was dropped as of the time of filing this report.
