The incident which occurred around 9 a.m. between the stadium bus stop and the Barrack bus stop on Saturday morning left commuters with no way to go as traffic was being diverted to avert explosion.
Our correspondent, who was at the scene of the incident noted that the Lagos State Fire Service was present and the road was cordoned off for the safety of the road users.
It was observed that the truck was making a loud whizzing sound as gas escaped from a point at the top of the truck.
So far, the reverent security and safety operatives are on the ground to avert any incident while commuters urged each other to turn off other phones while passing through the risky zone.
Ann eye witness who gave his name as Olamide said the truck was in transit when it began leaking about 9 a.m.
He said, “This truck has been leaking gas since around 9 a.m. but the Lagos Fire Service arrived on time.”
