- signs five-year deal with Fulham
Nigeria’s Alex Iwobi has shared a farewell message with Everton supporters after his exit from the club on the September 1 transfer deadline day.
Iwobi’s move to Fulham was confirmed in the early hours of Saturday, September 2, after Fulham submitted a deal sheet enabling them to continue work on this deal until 1 a.m.
The five-year contract worth £22million will run till June 2028.
The 27-year-old right footer spent three years at Goodison Park, and made a total appearance of 140 for the club in all competitions.
Iwobi would later become a versatile player in the Everton squad, particularly during Frank Lampard’s reign as manager.
The Nigeria international took to his verified Instagram handle, @alexanderiwobi, on Saturday to share his farewell message with the Toffees.
“What a journey it’s been Toffees. I’ve shared some of the most intense moments of my career with you all and it almost feels surreal that it has come to an end.
“The Alex that arrived at Goodison Park in 2019 isn’t the Alex saying goodbye today. I owe that to the good, the bad, the ugly and the beautiful game we’ve lived together.
“Thank you for an unforgettable ride and I wish you the best of luck, Blues.”
