A popular singer, Augustine Ahmedu, aka Blackface Naija, says that at this stage of his career, he is more focused on ‘raising forces that can compete in the music industry’ by working more as a music executive.
He told Sunday Scoop, “I am trying to release an album. I currently work with a record company called Loud Houz Entertainment, and we have some artistes that we are grooming. We are also working on a Plantashun Boiz project. People will be hearing more from me now as an executive, even though I will still be releasing songs once in a while. I am focused on helping those that are on my record label, teaching them all they need to know about the industry to make them big enough to fend for themselves.”
Expatiating on the work he is doing with the artists on the label, Blackface said, “We will not strategise the way others do. We don’t want to worry about some people’s songs getting airplay, while others don’t. We want a level playing field. Some people are scared of competition, but we don’t have time for worry. As a matter of fact, we want the competition to be very stiff. That is what will make the music industry grow.”
