Over China-based companies have booked to attend the upcoming 2023 edition of the China Commodities Expo holding in Lagos in November this year.
This was revealed by Vice President/General Manager, Brightway International Exhibition Company Limited, Shandong, China, Lara Lou, during a courtesy visit to PUNCH Nigeria Limited headquarters at Mogboro, Ogun State on Tuesday.
Brightway International Exhibition Company Limited is the organisers of CCE-Nigeria that birthed in Nigeria since 2007. It has brought together exhibitors from over 10 provinces and cities in China, including Shandong, Zhejiang, Fujian, Henan, Jiangsu, Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Chongqing and Guangdong to explore the African market.
According to Lou, over 100 China-based companies will be on ground to exhibit their products and technologies at the expo as a way of further cementing China’s trade relationship with Nigeria.
“CCE-Nigeria was formed as a way of boosting the trade relationship between China and Nigeria, and, although we are looking at bringing in about 200, but as we speak, over 100 have already shown interest and have been assigned booths at the conference,” she said.
While also speaking, Assistant General Manager of the company, Cate Han, said this year’s expo was also dedicated towards making sure exhibitors do not just come into the country to sell their products and technologies, but a way to also encourage them to set up shops in the country.
“This year’s expo would be providing more value to Nigeria in terms of creating more jobs because we would make sure that some of those companies coming in are encouraged to set up companies here,” she said.
The Chief Representative Officer, CCE-Nigeria, Muheez Abiodun, added that the company was ready to partner with genuine Nigerians that are ready to visit China for genuine businesses, and are willing to also help facilitate their visas.
Lou extolled The PUNCH for maintaining its position as one of the foremost newspapers in Nigeria, adding that Brightway International was willing to deepen its partnership with the company.
