Christians in Southern Borno under the aegis of Gwoza Elite Forum have protested against the exclusion of Christian Religious Studies as a subject in both primary and secondary schools in Borno state.
This is one of the action points raised by GEF in a resolution issued after its inaugural conference signed by the Secretary of its Communique Drafting Committee, Irmiya Kache, obtained by The PUNCH in Abuja on Thursday.
Kache said, “The conference affords participants the opportunity to reflect and brainstorm on the myriad of challenges Christian brethren are confronted with after 23 years of democratic experience, and suggested pragmatic and realistic political and socio-economic solutions.
“The issues that require prompt action include setting up a high-power delegation of selected Christian leaders consisting of respected clergies, politicians, and leaders of Christian organisation for an advocacy visit to His Excellency the Executive Governor of Borno State and engage him.
