The state’s Commissioner of Information, Munnir Haidara, disclosed this while addressing journalists in Gusau to mark the 100 Days in office of Lawal’s administration.
The commissioner said 300 civilian JTF would be recruited in each of the 14 local government areas of the state.
The recruits, according to Haidara, will undergo rigorous physical training that would prepare them to assist the security agencies with actionable intelligence to combat insecurity.
He said, “There is also regular ongoing patrol across the volatile roads across the state.
“Governor Lawal took the initiative to repair dilapidated patrol vehicles to improve the security presence throughout the state.”
On the issue of water scarcity in Gusau town which has caused the death of many people, the commissioner said the issue had been resolved in just two weeks.
He said, “For the past three years, the capital of Zamfara State, Gusau, has been severely afflicted by a dire water shortage.
“With no access to a portable water source, people had no choice but to use nearby rivers for all their essential requirements, including cooking and drinking, further endangering their life and well-being.
“Under the able leadership and stewardship of Governor Dauda Lawal, the rescue mission has accomplished the remarkable feat of resolving the issue of water scarcity in the State Capital in just 14 days of assumption in office.”
Haidara called on the people of the state to continue supporting the administration of the governor so as to take the state to greater heights.
“We want to assure the people that this administration will not hold back in taking steps and actions that will deliver dividends of good governance to the state and its citizenry,” he said.
