He made these remarks during a meeting with a 62-member delegation consisting of leaders from both the ruling All Progressives Congress and the opposition People’s Democratic Party at the State House in Abuja.
Tinubu emphasised the hardworking nature of Nigerians and their abundant resources. He stressed the importance of mutual support among citizens and being good neighbours to one another.
“We are not lazy people. We are richly endowed. We just need to be our brother’s keeper, and good neighbours to one another. I am not a President that will give excuses,” the presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, said through Tinubu.
President Tinubu acknowledged that, while there may be challenges currently, they will serve as a catalyst to drive the nation forward. He drew inspiration from the people he now leads and affirmed his determination to realize the aspirations of Nigeria’s forefathers.
“I will work hard for our nation with purpose, determination, and dedication to create wealth for all Nigerians. We have no reason to be poor! We will not look back, we will run aggressively forward.”
“Today, we may be swimming against the tide. But the waves will soon propel us forward from behind. We will achieve the goals and dreams of our forefathers. I am inspired by the nation of people I now lead,” he added.
The President assured the nation that he is resolute in fulfilling the government’s promises and pledged to work tirelessly for the betterment of Nigeria. He recognised the high expectations of the people and expressed his hope to meet those expectations.
