A content creator, Oluwatosin Kupoluyi, aka Xtreme, has said that opportunities are limitless on social media if properly utilised.
In a statement sent to Saturday Beats, he asserted that social media had been helpful, but users needed to be well grounded and carve a niche for themselves online.
He added that online platforms such as YouTube and Facebook helped in projecting his drama series, ‘The Half-Sisters’, locally and internationally.
Speaking on the importance of such platforms, he said, “These platforms have become indispensable tools for promoting and projecting Nigerian drama series, helping them gain recognition and subscribers, both locally and internationally.
“Platforms such as YouTube and Facebook offer opportunities for monetisation through advertising revenue, sponsorships, and merchandise sales. This can be a valuable source of income for the creators and production team.”
Speaking on his other projects, Xtreme said, “There is Xtreme Experience, which is my wedding and events content page on YouTube and Facebook. Back in the day, one would have had to look for a promoter to buy one’s show. Besides, one would need a large sum of money to buy airtime to air one’s drama series then. But now, things have changed with digital platforms such as Facebook, YouTube and Instagram.”
