The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has responded to the misconduct involving the six of its officers assigned to the Kwara State Police Command who were seen in a viral video attacking a bystander.
Such behavior, according to the NPF, is unacceptable and goes against the Force’s guiding values.
The Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi, stated on his verified X platform (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday morning that the Policemen and their Commander had been summoned to the Force Headquarters in Abuja to face the Provost Marshal for disciplinary actions as a result of the incident.
The FPRO wrote: “We have taken action in response to the recent incident involving officers from Kwara State Police Command who were captured assaulting a member of the public in a viral video. Such conduct is unacceptable and goes against the principles of the Force.
“The officers in question have reported at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, along with their commander. They have been referred to the Force Provost Marshal, where they will face disciplinary actions. We remain committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and accountability within the force.”
