Ogbuku who lamented that the region had been experiencing inadequate infrastructure, and educational disparities among others believed that there are solutions to the problems.
He spoke during a workshop for newly promoted Directors at the Commission on Monday in Abuja.
Represented by his Chief of Staff, Obegha Oworibo, he said the myriad of challenges confronting the region could be solved through concerted efforts from the directors of the commission and other relevant stakeholders.
Ogbuku urged the directors to ensure they used their positions to bring about the transformation the region needed.
He said, “We are all acutely aware of the myriad of challenges that have plagued the Niger Delta for decades. From environmental degradation caused by oil exploration to inadequate infrastructure from educational disparities to healthcare deficiencies- the list seems endless. Yet it is in the face of these challenges that leaders emerge and solutions are forged.
“Our region’s challenges are not insurmountable but they do require a concerted effort, strategic thinking, and unwavering commitment. This is where your role as director becomes pivotal. You are at the forefront of the battle for a better Niger Delta, armed not with weapons but with knowledge, vision, and determination.
“As you take your roles as Directors, you are not just assuming positions of authority you are embracing a profound responsibility to shape the destiny of our region. “
