The Public Relations Officer of the Command, DSP Lawan Shiisu, on Friday, disclosed this in a statement in Dutse.
Shiisu said the Vice Principal of the school reported the incident when he discovered the missing items.
Following the report, he said a surveillance squad attached to the Kazaure Division stormed a shop at Kan Gada quarters, Kazaure LGA, where the suspect was arrested with two sacks containing one printer machine, two mini-computers, two ceiling fans, and one disc receiver.
He said, “On 19th September 2023, one Bashir Ahmed, 50, the Vice Principal, Government Girls Unity Secondary School Kazaure, reported at Kazaure Police station that, on 18th September 2023, at about 1700hrs, he discovered that some of the school properties were stolen by unknown persons.
“On interrogation, the suspect confessed that he used a master key to open the store and made away with the aforementioned school items.
“Initially, a team of detectives visited the scene of the crime, and the master key was recovered,” he stated.
The police boss said the vice principal identified the recovered items to be the stolen school properties, noting that some other items were still missing.
In another development, the PPRO said one Aminu Abdullahi, of Balagu village Kiyawa LGA, was arrested with one cow strongly suspected to be stolen.
He said Abdullahi confessed that he saw the said cow behind someone’s house on his way from work and decided to steal it.
He noted that the rightful owner of the cow was traced and he identified his cow which had since been handed over to him.
He added that all suspects arrested will be arraigned before the court to face the full wrath of the law.
