Tolu-Kolawole, who works at the Abuja Bureau of The PUNCH, was nominated in the Journalism category of the award alongside Akinlade Abiodun and Pelumi Salako.
Other nominees in the young person of the year category are Hilda Baci, a Guinness world record holder; Climate change and youth development activist, Oluwaseyi Moejoh; D’Tigress Coach, Ena Wakama; Founder, Stellar Initiative, Precious Eniayeka and popular social media influencer, Enioluwa Adeoluwa.
Nominated in the sports category are Victor Osimhen; Tobi Amusan; Asisat Oshoala; Michelle Alozie; Mary Busayo Olatunji and Ese Brume.
The award, which is in its 17th edition, honours young people between the ages of 18 and 31 for outstanding achievement yearly.
With the theme, ‘Defying Odds, Inspiring Greatness,’ a total of 128 persons were nominated across 25 categories.
The organisers, at the unveiling of the nominees on Sunday, said the nominees had distinguished themselves in their various fields.
“The stage is set for Africa’s biggest youth celebration — The Future Awards Africa, a spectacular event created to honour the milestone achievements of youth across the continent.
“This year’s list showcases a list of impressive personalities renowned for excellence and norm-shattering endeavors across various fields,” the organisers added.
