Insurance operators under the umbrella of the West African Insurance Companies Association would be proffering solutions confronting the industry at the forthcoming WAICA Education Conference in Sierra Leone.
In a statement, the association said it had opened the registration portal for delegates of the conference, which would be held in November in Freetown, Sierra Leone.
According to the Secretary General of WAICA, Mr Davis Iyasere, through the conference with the theme ‘Aligning insurance practice in the 21st century to serve both public and private sectors’, insurance and reinsurance companies, insurance brokers and regulators would address challenges confronting the sector and proffer workable solutions on the way forward.
He said, “There is no doubt that the insurance industry is facing existential threats in the face of global challenges occasioned by the changing consumer dynamics and demands.”
The conference theme, he noted, reflected the fact that insurance companies were grappling with many threats on many fronts.
He noted that registration through the portal was expected to improve conference registration and onboarding experience to remove the stress associated with manual registration which was hectic, cumbersome and time-consuming.
Iyasere stated, “The aim is to improve the overall conference experience and make it more conducive and enjoyable. Delegates can register from the comfort of their bedroom.”
