According to the statement, an official of LASTMA, Ogunjobi, who led the rescue team confirmed that while driving in a one-way direction, the driver of the commercial Mitsubishi bus collided with a Toyota Sienna bus which led to the accident.
“He confirmed further that preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of the Toyota Sienna bus had a head collision with the white commercial Mitsubishi bus while driving against the direction prohibited by Law (One-way).
He noted that the female asthmatic patient was rushed to a hospital for urgent medical care while the drivers of the two collided cars were handed over to the police.
“Immediately we arrived at the accident scene the driver of the commercial Mitsubishi white bus who had bruises over his body and another female asthmatic patient were rescued by LASTMA officials”
“LASTMA Ogunjobi disclosed that while the rescued female asthmatic patient was immediately rushed to BISAM hospital for urgent medical attention, drivers of both vehicles were handed over to policemen from Meiran police station for further investigation.” the statement read.
However, the General Manager of LASTMA, Bolaji Oreagba, has warned drivers to avoid using one way while driving.
“Driving against direction prohibited by Law (One-way) is against the Lagos State Transport Sector Reform Law, 2018,” he said.
