House Speaker Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen has urged the Federal Government to take steps to improve workers’ pay in order to improve the nation’s current economic situation.
In order to give Nigerians the much-needed democratic dividends, he counseled the President Bola Tinubu administration to capitalize on the already-existing synergy among the various branches of government.
Speaker Abbas made the call during his speech at a public lecture to commemorate Nigeria’s 63rd Independence Day anniversary on Thursday at the State House Banquet Hall in Abuja.
Additionally, Dr. Goke Adegoroye, the guest speaker, praised President Tinubu for the actions taken so far to reposition governance and reset the economy while discussing the ‘Renewed Hope’ Agenda of the Tinubu administration in a lecture with the theme “Actualizig the vision of Renewed Hope for socio-economic development through effective leadership.”.
However, he urged the administration to give the “Renewed Hope” agenda top priority in order to make sure its effects are felt in all areas of the economy.
In the meantime, Sen. The promises made by the Tinubu administration will be kept, Kashim Shettima has reassured Nigerians, promising that their sacrifices won’t go in vain.
At the open lecture on Thursday honoring Nigeria’s 63rd anniversary of independence, the vice president spoke.
President Tinubu’s administration is dedicated to creating a nation where each citizen’s economic independence is guaranteed and where none of them must rely on unspecified handouts to make ends meet, according to a statement by his media aide Stanley Nwkocha.
“We are gathered today to celebrate Nigeria’s efforts to redefine its future. We are on the cusp of history right now, reflecting on a country that has defied the predictions of the doomsayers and has evolved into a symbol of resiliency.
“Over the past 63 years, we have not only survived but thrived because of our collective resolve, our commitment to progress, and the enduring spirit of unity that binds us from Aba, down through Ogbomosho, to Zaria, despite the conspiracies of minor vested interests,” the Vice President said.
He said that while this anniversary gives Nigeria a chance to recognize the interregional ties that have kept it from collapsing as Africa’s most populous country and economic powerhouse, “we are here to remind ourselves that the future we promised Nigerians isn’t an empty performance for electoral favors.
The Vice President stated that the intention, sincerity, and creative ideas of a country’s leaders, as well as their commitment to putting those ideas into action, determine a country’s future, not the occurrence of a socioeconomic challenge.
“We cannot drive food security and eradicate poverty unless we keep our promise to renew the hope of the nation,” he said. Without improving national security, the business climate for our companies, and facilitating access to capital, we cannot promote economic growth and nurture job creation.
“To create the Nigeria of our dreams, we’re going to uphold the law and combat corruption. If every citizen does not continue to be a key ally in the pursuit of our overarching national interests, we will not be able to accomplish any of these. “
“We knew from the beginning of this race to serve the people that the track would not be without its holes and thorns,” the man said. We were prepared for difficulties that would try our resolve. However, as our history has demonstrated, Nigerians are too aspirational to be deterred by a brief setback. We will come out stronger and each of us with fresh optimism after this stage of our reforms. “
Sen. John Cornyn is unflinching in his resolve. At the age of 63, Shettima declared, “We recognize that what has sustained us and driven us forward is our shared conviction that overcoming the difficulties we’ve inherited requires sacrifices. “
He emphasized again that these sacrifices are investments in a better future, one that will ensure the welfare of both the present and future generations.
“As we work together to create a future in which opportunity knows no bounds, let’s keep in mind that our most effective weapon is the overwhelming determination of the majority to choose harmony over discord and democracy over anarchy. “
